EHCACHE+Terracotta+ColdFusion Enterprise Level Caching
There is something very good brewing for ColdFusion users as a result of the close integration with EHCACHE in ColdFusion 9 and the further enhancement of that in ColdFusion 9.0.1. There have been several great articles and presentations on the integration of EHCACHE at the application level. Aaron West did an in depth set of articles which start here. In addition Rob Brooks-Bilson has blogged and presented on EHCACHE.
Myself and Rex Vincent are currently hard at work on the server side of EHCACHE which with the use of Terracotta gives us the capability to create and manage large distributed caches of the kind used by FaceBook and Twitter. Apart from home grown uses of EHCACHE, memcached, Squid, Varnish etc, the caching alternatives in ColdFusion have been numerous, sort of fragmented and hard to manage; we explained this is more detail here
We are working with EHCACHE-Terracotta to bring a new level of server side efficacy, stability and scalability to ColdFusion, from the enhanced use of EHCACHE, we will have more news on this soon.
