Couchbase and CFCouchbase

Back in 2009-2011 I was co-running the ColdFusion User Group in Los Angeles CA and Luis Majano was running the Inland Empire ColdFusion User Group out in Pomona CA.  We met quite a few times and Luis at that time was working tirelessly on the ColdBox framework (and yes - documentation).  So here we are in 2016 and I am still whispering around ColdFusion and Luis is running Ortus Solutions, a very successful tools and service company and the "Box" line has expanded a lot.  This week Ortus have been running a series of developer webinars called ODW2016, today is the last day of that in fact.

Couchbase is a NoSQL database product which I had marginally encountered along with MongoDB at clients, however I had not seen nor did I know that there was a CFCouchbase SDK

"The CFCouchbase SDK is a CFML library for interacting with Couchbase NoSQL Server . It can be used by any CFML application or CFML framework to provide them with NoSQL, distributed caching, dynamic queries and many more capabilities ."

There was a webinar today which focussed in on exactly that, using Couchabse with Adobe ColdFusion and Lucee, it was excellent to say the very least. It was run by Aaron Benton and luckily it was recorded; it really is worth watching; Couchbase is far more fully featured than I had realized.

The CFCouchbase SDK was created by Ortus Solutions and can be found here.
